The day we climbed Snowdon
High on Yr Wyddfa, August 2026.
Most of what goes on this site is consumer units, rewires and EV chargers, so here is something different. On a Sunday in the middle of August we swapped the vans for walking boots and took the Lanaway shirt up Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa to give the mountain its proper name, the highest peak in Wales.
We are a small family firm, and most weeks the highest anyone gets is the top of a loft ladder, so this one asked a bit more of the legs than a first fix does. The path just keeps going up, the chat gets quieter the longer it goes on, and then the view opens out, the lake appears below you, and nobody minds about the legs any more.
The Lanaway green earns its first summit. It stands out well against a Welsh mountain, as it turns out.
Why this is on an electrician's website
Because the people in these photos are the same ones who turn up at your door in those shirts. Lanaway is a family firm, not a call centre with a logo, and we think you should see what the team looks like when nobody is elbow deep in a fuse board. It was a proper day out. The backs of our legs disagreed for most of the week after.
We were back on the tools the Monday after, boots swapped for the usual. If you need us, we are a lot easier to reach than a summit.
