Garden rooms, outdoor sockets and outside lighting in Kent

Anything outside is a different job from anything inside, and the difference is water. A supply to a garden room, an outdoor socket, a hot tub or a run of garden lights all have to be built to survive weather for years rather than a summer.

This is quote visit work rather than phone price work, because what decides it is how far the cable has to go and what it has to go under. The visit is free.

What we run power out to

• Garden rooms and offices. A proper supply with its own protection, so the room works like a room rather than an extension lead through a window.
• Garages and outbuildings. Lighting and sockets, and a board out there if the load justifies it.
• Hot tubs. These need a dedicated supply sized for the tub, and it is worth getting the electrician in before the tub arrives rather than after.
• Outdoor sockets. Weatherproof and protected, for the mower, the pressure washer and the Christmas lights.
• Garden and security lighting. Including motion floodlights, and repairing the outdoor light that stopped working two winters ago.

Why outdoor work is priced on site

The cable is the job. Ten metres across a lawn is a morning. The same ten metres under a block paved driveway is a different conversation. Add in what the ground is like, whether there is a route through a wall, and where the board is, and a phone quote would be a number we would have to change. So we look first.

If your board trips every time it rains, that is usually water in an outside socket or a garden light rather than anything indoors, and it is fault finding rather than this page.
